We all know cover letters are tough to write. Making the job application you’ve sweated over stand out means the last thing you want are grammatical errors.
The Hemingway Editor app has it covered with a smart set of color coding to make sure your cover letter is crisp and clear.
Long, complex sentences and common errors are flagged in yellow to alert you to shorten or split them. If you see a red highlight, your sentence is so dense and complicated that your readers will get lost trying to follow it, so you need to edit it.
Purple is used to show you where you can utilize a shorter word. Adverbs are shown in blue to help you get rid of them and replace them with verbs with force instead. Green is used to show phrases in passive voice so you can adjust those too.
