I created Twenty Ten Talent because I wanted to help Black women accelerate at work and increase what we earn.
On average, women continue to be hired and promoted at lower rates than men, and at senior levels, the gap in promotions is more pronounced for women of color. We are the most underrepresented group in the corporate pipeline. When the road is this long, and this steep, we need significant support.
When I sat down to draft the first posts for Twenty Ten Talent, I had no idea this would lead to writing a book. But that’s the exhilarating part of starting something. You never know where it may take you.
I’m thrilled to announce that my forthcoming book, a career guide for under-represented women, will be published Wiley.
As a career coach during this pandemic I have addressed some of the hardest, and most heartbreaking, questions of my career. My book is built out of the concerns I hear over and over from women who are striving to find a way forward. My aim is to help under-represented women lay the foundations to build and reignite their careers.
Thank you so much for following and supporting Twenty Ten Talent. I’m forever thankful to everyone who read, shared, and contributed to the content created.
Right now, in addition to career coaching, I’m busy writing, editing, and getting everything ready for the book’s launch. I’m looking forward to sharing updates along the way, including the title and cover. You can also follow my progress on Instagram at @octaviagoredema.
It’s been an adventure so far and I’m beyond excited to share what comes next.
